Tuscany without the postcard.
Tuscany has been photographed more than almost anywhere on earth, and most wedding pictures made here are a version of something you have already seen: the cypress avenue, the couple small against the hill, the golden hour applied like a filter.
I am not interested in proving you were in Tuscany. Anyone can do that. I am interested in proving it was your day, and that means photographing the people rather than the scenery they happen to be standing in front of.

I am not directing you.
A Tuscan wedding is rarely one day. There is a welcome dinner, a long lunch the day after, people arriving from three countries and staying a week. The photographs that end up mattering most are often not from the wedding day at all.
I shoot the whole arc when you want it covered, and I say so plainly when you do not need me for a part of it. Nobody should pay a photographer to stand around at a brunch.
What I will not do is march everyone into a field at sunset. If a picture of the two of you alone is what you want, we take fifteen minutes and make one worth keeping.
- How early should we book a photographer in Tuscany?
- Tuscany is the most booked region in Italy for foreign couples. For May to October, plan on a year ahead. Villas and photographers tend to go in the same week.
- Can you cover more than the wedding day?
- Yes. Welcome dinners, the day after, and anything in between. Extra days are quoted per day, and I will tell you honestly which ones are worth photographing.
- Do you travel for weddings?
- Yes. Anywhere in Italy and anywhere else. Travel and accommodation are quoted with the rest, so nothing appears on the invoice that was not agreed first.
- Will it be you photographing, or someone from a team?
- Me. On weddings I work alongside Giovanni Cocco, and the two of us are the two who turn up. You will never meet a photographer you have not spoken to.
- How long until we see the photographs?
- Everything is delivered within two months of the wedding, in a private online gallery you can download from home.
- Can we print wherever we like?
- Yes. The files are yours. You do not have to come through me to print, and I will not charge you for the privilege.
- Will you pose us?
- No. No details lined up like a catalogue, no walking towards the camera holding hands, no frame that could belong to anybody else. I photograph the day as it goes.
